How much do I need?
Usage will vary depending on conditions including steel type, level of contamination, and temperature. For most applications we recommend approximately one gallon per 1000 ft of weld.
How long does it take?
10-15 minutes, depending on application.
Do I need protective equipment?
We recommend wearing gloves and safety goggles.
Is it ASTM approved?
Yes. Our stainless steel pickling and passivation products — Wonder Gel and Derustit SS-3 — are formulated to meet ASTM A967 (passivation) and ASTM A380 (cleaning, descaling, and passivation). A Certificate of Conformance is available on request.
Are your products NSF registered?
Yes. Wonder Gel and Derustit SS-3 are registered in the NSF Nonfood Compounds Program (the “White Book,” Category A3) for use in and around food-processing facilities. You can verify our registrations directly on NSF’s public listing.
Can it be rinsed it down the drain?
It can be safely rinsed down the drain in small quantities. For industrial applications, contact us.
Can I request a sample?
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of shipping, we do not offer samples.
Why does shipping cost more?
Our product ships via UPS under the Hazmat level 8 category, which incurs an extra expense.
Does it work?
Yes. It works. We've been in business for more than fifty years selling the same product so we must be doing something right.
