Used across welding and fabrication, medical device and surgical-instrument manufacturing, food and pharmaceutical equipment, and aerospace, SS-3 Liquid helps parts meet ASTM A967 (passivation) and ASTM A380 (cleaning and descaling) requirements. What does SS-3 Liquid do?
It passivates stainless steel — removing free iron and contaminants so the chromium-oxide passive layer re-forms, maximizing corrosion resistance. It does not remove meaningful base metal.
SS-3 Liquid vs. Wonder Gel — which do I need?
Use SS-3 Liquid to passivate clean or machined stainless. Use Wonder Gel when you also need to remove weld heat tint and scale (pickling) — it does both in one step.
Does it meet ASTM A967?
It is formulated for passivation consistent with ASTM A967 and the cleaning/descaling practices of ASTM A380. Verify the specific acceptance criteria for your application.
Does SS-3 Liquid expire? What's the shelf life?
